The Metal Scholar's Weekly Listening List (16th March 2021)

Summer Sun Starting To Creep Through The Clouds

I'm currently sat being bedazzled by the sunlight shining through my windows in the midst of a bright, spring day. The lighter and longer days have been incredible for my mental health, seeing winter slowly ebb away and the world beginning to wake for its weary slumber is a much needed boost in this long, laborious lockdown. The melodic birdsong is something that always fills me with happiness but you also wonder whether it is family squabbles about who is cleaning out the nest next. Anyway, before I turn this into some illustrious sample from a Victorian novel, I better crack on with some music. Apologies for going a bit quiet last week, been having some ear trouble making it uncomfortable to wear headphones for long periods of time. I was also busy with RAMzine, making sure all you guys get to read all the great content currently being published over there. Also, Witchwood Wizard & The Psychic Yeti have released our new EP, Enter The Yeti! on the 10th March which I'd love if you guys could check it out! So, I think that's all the major business covered, and without further ado, here are this week's lists.

Throwback Of The Week

This week's throwback is in honour of L.G. Petrov. Entombed have been one of the cornerstones of Swedish death metal for decades wether is be as Entombed or as Entombed A.D.  The signature riffs and guitar sound has been a seminal influence for many bands. Entombed were my gateway into Swedish death metal and it is a great loss for the metal community. Honestly, fuck cancer. Vila i frid L.G. P.

Entombed (๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช) - Left Hand Path (Earache Records), Death Metal
