The Metal Scholar's Weekly Listening List (28th July 2020)

Another Exhausting But Enjoyable Week

Well, the weather has certainly been unable to decide what it wants to be this week, one minute rain, the next glorious sunshine. This is England though so I should expect nothing less. Anyway, bland English small talk aside, it has been another great week of awesome music and achievement for me! As I mentioned in the latest Miscellaneous Goings On Of Tom, a lot has changed for me in the last six weeks, for the better and I have so much more drive and passion for the things I love. I am also on the grind to get the blog to 10,000 hits before the end of the year, after noticing that I am now just shy of 8,500 hits, which is honestly phenomenal! This blog has evolved into a lot more than music reviews and it has helped me grow as a writer whilst helping me get my voice heard. Many of you have seen it grow from it's humble origins as a side project to becoming a big part of me and my music, and I can't thank all of you enough for continually supporting me in this endeavour. I can thank and credit the Coronavirus lockdown as a massive catalyst for this insane growth over the last few months and how I am determined to keep up the pace I started way back in March! Anyway, there is a ton of awesome releases coming out at the moment and it's been hard to pick individual ones to focus on, it just reminded me why I set up this weekly content so I can cover all the awesome stuff that I have heard throughout the week! I'm also happy I managed to get some reviews in for you guys in between editions of the Weekly Listening List as I hate not giving you guys anything in between. So, without any further ado, this week's lists.

Throwback Of The Week

This weeks throwback goes back to one of my albums last year. I love it when bands sing in their native tongue as to me the music sounds way more passionate and how it is supposed to sound, if that makes sense. This album, was another awesome prog record and I managed to experience a few of these songs live on their most recent tour. This week's throwback is;

Opeth (๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช) - In Cauda Venenum (Swedish Version) (Moderbolgaget Records), Progressive Metal/Rock
