The Metal Scholar's Weekly Listening List (4th February 2020)

Waiting For The Cold Snap, But I Keep Hearing The Birds Of Spring

It is a strange time of year February, because you never know if you'll be plunged into a snow driven cold or that spring will come early. Going on last year with that mad heat spell in the middle of February just confused everyone but highlighted the problems we now face due to global warming. Anyway, its been another great week for music exploration, with Lordi releasing a new album under the guise of a fictional compilation album, which I found quite interesting as it augments the bands story. Monsters aside, I've also explored recordings of old medieval songs and some of those have been insightful into seeing how music has developed over the hundreds of years to what we have today. Despite the confusing seasons and time of year, lets get on with this weeks lists!

Throwback Of The Week

This week's throwback is a classic that got me into Airbourne! Having brought me and my dad tickets to see them in June at the tiny venue of the Cheese & Grain in Frome, Somerset, UK I've been spinning this album on repeat. So many iconic songs for me and just an easy to enjoy band.

Airbourne (🇦🇺) - Runnin' Wild (Nettwerk Music Group), Hard Rock
