The Metal Scholar's Weekly Listening List (2nd September 2019)
Does This Guy Do Anything Else Other Than Sit And Listen To Music?
Another amazing week for music, with Mayhem releasing new music and just loads of other great music springing up from out of no where. 2019 has been an awesome year so far, I've lost count of how many new albums I've heard and how many I've gone back to. Having recently secured Slipknot tickets expect a the 9 to make one or two appearances in this weeks lists! We're now coming out of festival season too, so I'm expecting a lot more releases over the coming months as tours get announced. Behemoth's new EP being a tour only release could be a possible point of contention for some people. I thought it was an interesting marketing campaign but if it sells tickets who cares really? Anyway, as the nights start to draw in and the temperature drops, get your headphones on and get listening to these monster songs in preparation for spooky season!

Throwback Of The Week
This album was pretty heavy for me back in the day, but then again everything was to be honest. I remember first being shown this album around about this time of year and instantly fell in love. This album is nearly 10 years old so you can see how long ago that was! Back in the glory days of that Asking Alexandria style of break down and clean choruses. Anyway, this weeks throwback is;
For The Fallen Dreams (đşđ¸) - Relentless (Rise Records)
Favourite Track(s): Nightmares, Smoke Signals
A very American and very death metal line up I must admit, but there are so many great bands over there you can't always avoid them and who doesn't just want to feel brutal with lots of death metal? Should be some unusual albums in there for you to get your head round but well worth a listen!
